I was homeschooled from pre-K all the way through 12th grade, and it was one of the biggest blessings in my life. Thank you so much for sharing your family's homeschool journey with us; I can't wait to read more! Just curious, do you go through a homeschool program or do you put it together yourself? I only ask because my family used Seton, so whenever I meet another homeschooling family, I have to ask in case they're fellow Setonians :) Whatever works for you is absolutely the best for your family, and I'm so glad it's going well for you all!

Hi Chantal!! I love that you were homeschooled and loved it! You give me hope. We have tried MODG and while beautiful, it felt like too much for my and my brood. I think that was part of the reason I did not choose Seton. It is such a beautiful curriculum but just not for us. Now we piecemeal it together and it works great for us 😊

I really enjoyed this.

I was speaking to a dear, old, friend the other day on the topic of our precious babies being in their 30s. For some reason, we both said, more or less simultaneously, how grateful we were that, u like now, we did not have to home-school the brats.

It's ugly out there. My pal and I were Catholic and "Little Ivy" educated - with a scant time in public school in my case. We privately / Catholic educated ours. The grand children - we worry.

I was homeschooled 4th-8th grade, something for which today I am SO grateful, but at the time I resented having to leave the school and friends I’d known since pre-k. There were definitely growing pains getting into homeschooling as an older child, and I swore I would never homeschool because I didn’t want to have to teach a child who would be as awful to me as I was to my mother. 😂🤦‍♀️ Now, four years working in the public school system and three kids later, I’ve totally turned the bend and am preparing to start homeschooling my oldest. I’m excited to learn more about your journey!

Oh my goodness Bridget!! How brave!! I have so many friends who were teachers who made the same decisions! Proud of you for seeing what your kids need and having the courage to do it. Keep me posted! I know you're going to crush it

This is headed towards how homeschooled kids tend to be better socialized, right? I tried school for my eldest, but it didn’t work out for us and now as a family we are piecemealing a curriculum and schedule and it’s so cozy and wonderful (though surely chaotic at times!). Thanks for sharing your journey. I just subscribed and I look forward to hearing more.

Thank you for subscribing!! You are on the right track! 😉 I'm so glad you found a way to make it work for you. That individual approach is my favorite aspect of homeschooling! Glad you're here!
